This actually happened once. A bunch of us waited at our bus stop on a snowy morning, got picked up and driven to school...only for the principal to meet us out front to tell the driver to send us home. The school system had just announced schools were closed due to the snow.

Trust me, it was good to get the day off, but it would have been nice if we had found out before we left our homes 😅

Before we had channels dedicated to cartoons, children had to tune in to the network channels on weekday afternoons before 5PM to catch some of their favorite cartoons. Sure, I was supposed to work on homework as soon as I got home, but with shows like G.I.Joe, Transformers, MASK, He-Man, Thundercats, Silverhawks, Duck Tales, Batman TAS (to name a few), it was tough NOT to naturally gravitate to the TV when I got home. 😉

The Long Walk Home

This happened to me once. I hit a curb riding my bike - the bike came to a stop, and I was launched over the handlebars, sliding to a stop on the sidewalk.

Both of my elbows and knees were pretty roughed up, my bike was bent out of shape, and I was still a few blocks away from the house.

I ended up walking my bike home...knees and elbows bleeding badly...as much as I tried to act like nothing was wrong, it was no surprise neighbors were staring as I walked by 😕
