It was almost an annual tradition...I'd get sick just in time for Christmas. This would frustrate my parents - they wanted to see my excitement on Christmas Day, but I'd be too sick to be able to show any. 🤒🎄🎁

Book Bag

You knew you had a lot of homework when you struggled to drag your book bag home! 😮‍💨🎒

 

Outside

Remembering when we were so active, it wasn't unusual for us to be running around outside without a coat. 😅🛹

 

Imagination

A simpler time...when something as simple as a tree can suddenly become a castle, tower, or fort! 😁

 

Gift Shop

Remembering when the elementary school had a gift shop where we could buy Christmas gifts for our parents. 🎁

Weekend Woes

Though I usually looked forward to the weekend, I would get disappointed that I'd have to wait two whole days before I could see the cute girl from class again. 🥰

In honor of the World Cup! ⚽️

Though I played soccer in my youth, even joining the junior varsity team in high school, I have to admit I was never really good at the game. 😅

Back to Work

As the temperature dropped, we had to run around quite a bit more to try and keep warm. 😅🏀

Speaking in front of the class was tough, but speaking to the girl you like was far worse! 😳

One of the most terrifying moments for a shy child...having to give an oral report in front of the whole class! 😳

Escape

When I got in trouble, my parents probably got frustrated when I'd get that glazed look in my eyes. The truth? I often used my overactive imagination to escape the moment. 😉

Indoors

As the weather got colder, we'd move our activities indoors, much to my parent's annoyance 🥶❄️

 

Temp Drop

That first fall morning the temperature drops, you forget to dress in warmer clothes, and don't have enough time to go back and change before the school bus arrives. 🥶

Question

During test time, there was usually one...

I didn't mind helping out a fellow classmate...as long as neither of us got caught 🤫

Distractions

It was always dangerous placing my desk so close to the window, especially in the fall. The change in leaf colors always drew my attention away from class. 😅🍂🍁

Homework Weary

When you spend the entire evening working on homework...and you still have a ways to go. 😮‍💨📚
