When you can't wait for the New Year...
Happy New Year's Eve!
I hope everyone has a better, safer, and healthier New Year in 2021! 🥳🎆
Remembering when the family would celebrate Christmas with the grandparents. After all the excitement opening presents, I'd often crash on the trip home.
Watching the street lights flash light into the car every few seconds only added to my sleepiness. 😴
The torture parents would put us through as little children, leaving presents under the tree for us to wonder what may be inside. 🎁
When no one was looking, I *may* have shaken a present or two, just to help determine what may be inside. If I thought it might contain clothes, I would strategically try to open them last on Christmas morning 😅
This reaction is not too far off from how I would have reacted if I saw a bug in the house 😳
The drawback to allowing yourself to sleep in a little over the weekend: it's extra difficult getting back into your weekday routine Monday morning! 😴
Remembering those occasions when my father would light a fire in the fireplace.
The radiant heat throughout the house, the smell of the wood burning, the crackle and pop of the wood, watching the embers glow...all while reading a comic book by the light of the fire 🔥
Good times! 😊
"Zack...it's 11AM! I hope you are up already!"
Happy Saturday Morning! 😁☀️
After a full week of school, sometimes it's nice to be able to sleep in a little on Saturday! 😅
It's Sunday...time for some football! 🏈
We were such big football fans growing up, we were often out playing football Sunday afternoon rather than watching the pros play on TV. 😅
Classes on Thanksgiving week...it was always tough to focus on schoolwork with the holiday (and long weekend) only a couple days away 🍗😋
School lunchtime...often I'd have plenty of extra time before having to return to class. It was common to find myself lost in my drawings...😁✏
There's something about taking a day off every once in a while - a day to just unwind.
My mother on rare occasion would give me the opportunity to stay home from school. I'd always be back to school the next day feeling recharged, ready to tackle the next (math) problem. 🤓📚
With the high winds we dealt with last week, I remembered how hard it was walking home from school, weighed down with a backpack full of books, fighting through strong gusts of wind. 💨🍃😳
I always felt fortunate when I brought along an umbrella on rainy school days, but then that meant I'd have to carry around a wet umbrella all day 😅☔
This was a common occurrence for me back in school...I'd spin my wheels on a portion of a test, and before I knew it, time was up and I had to hand my test in...but I wouldn't be finished yet! In a panic, I'd think, "maybe if I just filled in some random answers real quick, I might happen to get a couple right!" 😅😳
A benefit of being a drummer...whenever you have a rough day, you can always take your frustrations out on a drum! 😂🥁
Sunday evening, when the realization that the beginning of a new weekday work routine is merely a few hours away. 😬📚
The sunsets were amazing, though! 🤯
This time of year reminds me of school nights in elementary school...working late on my homework with the windows open, feeling that cool breeze as I worked. 📚
This is one of the best times of the year for a stroll outside. The range of colors as the leaves begin to change can be breathtaking! 🍁🍂
