Good siblings like to share...like the time I shared my case of Chicken Pox with my sister. By the time I had gotten over the illness...the spots started showing up on her! 😅🤒

Running Late

 Let's be honest...this happened to most of us at least once 😅

One time I remember missing the bus, despite her best efforts, my mother couldn't get me up and out the door in time. I started walking down the street, only to see the bus drive right on by a block down the road. Mom was furious! 😡😳

Darker Mornings

It's that time of year...the days are getting shorter!

It was easy to tell in the morning when I left the house for school. For the first few days it'd be light out when I'd leave, but soon it'd be dark when I left home! 😲🌕

First Night of Homework

I'll be honest...it was often difficult to make that initial plunge into homework that early in the year!

Who am I kidding?! It was difficult to start working on homework on ANY given night! 😂🤣

Hoops

A great way to find a new friend in the beginning of the school year...challenging a classmate to a game of "HORSE" at recess! 🏀😁🤜🤛😄

It often became something we'd play EVERY TIME we were out on the playground throughout the school year! 😉 

Teacher's Pet

Did anyone else's parents put them up to this?

With the school season about to start up, I was anxious to meet my teacher for the year. My mother would encourage me to walk up to the school the week before school started to introduce myself and offer to help the teacher set up their classroom.

As a kid, it felt harmless, but now as an adult, I wonder what the teacher thought. Did they think it unfair for my Mom to send me up for THEM to watch? Did it seem like an attempt at favoritism in the classroom for the upcoming school year?

Hopefully the teacher was appreciative of meeting me early, and welcomed the help setting up their classroom. 😊

Football

My barometer for knowing the fall season is right around the corner is seeing football games back on the television! 😁🏈

Working Dad

This was usually how I saw my father on the weekends.

My father worked hard around the house, taking on projects to try and save the family some money. Great work ethic, but it made it difficult to spend quality time with him when he was always working. 😮‍💨🔨
